Responsibilities Job SummaryHonorHealth Foundation seeks a visionary Vice President of Principal Giving to lead and grow our principal gifts program, securing philanthropic investments that will drive the success of our campaigns and other strategic initiatives. This executive leader will develop and execute strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward seven-, eight-, and nine-figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporations. As a key member of the Foundation’s senior leadership team, the VP of Principal Giving will work closely with the CEO, SVP of Development, Board of Trustees, and top volunteers to build relationships with the highest-level donors and prospects, positioning HonorHealth Foundation as a premier philanthropic partner in healthcare.Essential Functions Donor Cultivation, Solicitation & Stewardship - Personally manage a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and prospects, leading solicitations starting at the $5M+ level. Build deep, lasting relationships with individual philanthropists, corporate leaders, and family foundations to secure transformational investments. Design and oversee bespoke stewardship experiences for top donors, ensuring continued engagement and increased lifetime giving. Develop and execute strategic partnership opportunities with hospital leadership and medical experts to align donor interests with HonorHealth’s mission. Strategic Leadership & Program Development - Design and lead a best-in-class principal giving program to secure gifts. Develop individualized engagement strategies for top-tier donors and prospects, ensuring alignment with their philanthropic priorities. Partner with executive leadership, physicians, board members, and volunteers to leverage their networks for donor cultivation. Integrate principal giving strategies into campaigns and initiatives. Team & Organizational Leadership – Set clear goals and accountability measures for success. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to elevate the team’s ability to secure significant gifts. Foster a culture of philanthropy across HonorHealth, working collaboratively with clinical and administrative leaders. Represent HonorHealth Foundation externally, speaking at events and engaging with community and industry leaders. Other duties as assignedEducation Bachelor's Degree - RequiredMaster’s Degree - PreferredExperience 10+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing $5M+ gifts. Demonstrated success in principle, major, or campaign fundraising at a healthcare or academic institution preferred. Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with experience engaging C-suite executives, board members, and philanthropists. Deep knowledge of high-net-worth philanthropy, donor psychology, and complex gift structures (planned giving, blended gifts, etc.). Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire donors and stakeholders. Proven leadership ability, with experience managing senior-level fundraising professionals and cross-functional teams - Required CFRE, FAHP, or equivalent advanced fundraising credential. Experience leading principal giving within a comprehensive campaign. Familiarity with CRM donor databases (Salesforce, Blackbaud, etc.) - PreferredLicenses and Certifications
