Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently recruiting for a **Production Process Planner.** This position will be located at **Promontory Utah** .
The Production Process Planner performs a variety of process and quality engineering functions to create and control procedures/shop instructions in support of operations or quality assurance. The Production Process Planner facilitates communication between various Engineering disciplines and Operations by understanding the functions and roles of both groups. The Production Process Planner uses their intimate understanding of manufacturing operations to translate engineering requirements into easy to understand, step by step instructions. The Production Process Planner provides the critical service of transforming complex and often vague requirements into simple and clear shop floor instructions.
This position will report to the Process Engineering Manager for the Promontory Motor Value Stream Case Insulation/Lining.
**D** **uties include:**
+ Authoring and maintenance of electronic shop floor instructions and support documents
+ Convert shop floor work instructions from various platforms (paper systems) to Electronic Shop Floor Work Instruction System (ESI)
+ Create/Update and manage production work instructions in accordance with program and company requirements
+ Create/update simple sketches and/or process flows used in production work instructions
+ Coordinates with multifunctional team and customers for review and approval of production work instructions
+ Manages and incorporates part effectivity and engineering revisions into shop instructions
+ Manages Engineering change control and configuration management methods for both parts and processes
+ Assists Process Engineer with table top reviews
+ Assists Operations in the creation and maintenance of Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
+ Seeks process and planning feedback from operations and incorporates into planning where possible
+ May act as handling tech or some other additional responsibility
+ Understands the change control process and has the ability to assist in the creation of CR’s/OCR’s for process engineering and subsequent implementation into planning
**Requirements**
+ High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
+ Excellent computer skills with the ability to become an expert in the company's Electronic Shop Floor work instruction software and document/engineering management software (ePIC)
+ Excellent writing and communication skills
+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes
+ Excellent organizational skills
+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, and specs
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience writing shop floor instructions for complex manufacturing processes
+ Experience in Aerospace or Defense manufacturing environments
+ Knowledge of handling operations (use of cranes, lifting beams, rigging, or other methods of transporting large and awkward loads)
+ Familiarity with Government change control procedures (NASA, DoD, Airforce, Navy, etc.)
+ Experience working in operations, operations management, or Process/Manufacturing Engineering)

Salary Range: $55,800.00 - $93,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
