**About this role:**

**Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to report into the Research and Systems Engineering group within Foundational Hosting Platform (FHP). The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for overseeing assured delivery of key technology roadmaps developed in partnership with enterprise architecture. Technology areas include distributed compute and storage, mainframe, mid-range, database, automation, cross configuration engineering and solutions, and compliance assurance.**

**In this role, you will:**

**Collaborate and provide solution engineering designs across FHP teams on engineering work and help team members make informed decisions in alignment with individual and collective strategic plans**

**Expose technology and organizational needs throughout FHP to the leadership team in structured ways for management within the backlog**

**Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts, individual contributors, across all teams in FHP**

**Solve technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity for FHP**

**Look for innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope**

**Work with various platform teams to drive adoption of toolchain based automation with a view to** **infrastructure-as-code** **for all platforms**

**Ensure that OKR level goals are aligned across teams within FHP**

**Guide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams**

**Provide a point of escalation for sub-department teams facing complex technical challenges**

**Interact with customers and other external stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson for the technology roadmaps of FHP**

**Provide proven technical knowledge of infrastructure in all key technology areas within FHP and across the enterprise**

**Required Qualifications:**

**3+ years of experience in software development and delivery**

**3+ years of Distributed Compute, Storage and Database Hosting services (Virtualization, Cloud, Hybrid)**

**Desired Qualifications:**

**BS degree or higher in Computer Science,** **Engineering** **or related field**

**Solid programming skills in Python** **or** **Go for automation, scripting, and infrastructure management tasks.**

**Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Salt)**

**Hands on experience creating and managing automated OS image builds with tools such as** **Packr** **or Image Builder.**

**Strong** **expertise** **in VMWare HCX and** **ESXi** **for efficient workload migration across different environments**

**Strong knowledge of public cloud (Azure/GCP) with hands-on experience in deploying and managing applications in the cloud.**

**Strong** **expertise** **in Docker,** **Kubernetes** **and PCF. Managing high availability and efficient deployment of cloud-native applications.**

**Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.**

**Experience with** **GitOps** **principles and tools, such as Git, Flux, or** **ArgoCD** **, for managing infrastructure and application deployments.**

**Proficiency** **in API gateways, such as Kong or Apigee, for managing and securing APIs.**

**Knowledge of Service Mesh technologies, such as Istio,** **Linkerd** **, or Consul, for microservices communication and observability.**

**Strong understanding** **of RESTful APIs** **with** **hands-on** **experience in** **designing or extending** **such** **APIs**

**Job Expectations:**

**This role has an in-office expectation; successful candidate must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in one of the posted locations.**
