**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
As our Director Professional Practice at Northridge Hospital, you will work under the administrative direction of our Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and will be responsible for facilitating the standardization of Nursing Practice and activities across the Hospital. You will design, implement, coordinate and monitor the quality of Nursing Practice that leads to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the necessary steps toward Pathways to Excellence and
/or Magnet Hospital Recognition. Such responsibilities encompass not only the nursing department's internal functioning but also how it is integrated into the organization's overall operation. You will help to create a professional practice environment and Magnet culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission, and meet or exceed its goals, and seek to promote and help to maintain through interactions with others, a positive professional team oriented and service conscious clinical practice environment.
You will function in the role of the Pathway to Excellence or Magnet Program Director for all things related to Pathway to Excellence and/or Magnet purposes and designation, and be the primary liaison with the ANCC. You will also organize and direct the work of the Shared Governance and Pathway to Excellence/Magnet readiness journey and program.
You will also be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating Transitional and Palliative care services for Northridge Hospital, as this role will provide oversight to the Transitional Care interdisciplinary staff of Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, and Social Workers.
**Qualifications**
**Required Education and Experience:**
+ Must be a graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
+ Master's degree required.
+ Completion of Nurse Practitioner program required.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience required.
+ Prior experience as Palliative/Chronic Disease or Hospice, Pathway to Excellence/Magnet Coordinator or key leader overseeing Pathway toExcellence/Magnet required.
**Required** Licensure and Certification:
+ Current California Registered Nursing (RN) license required.
+ Current California Nurse Practitioner certification (NP-C) required.
+ AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
+ AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
+ Los Angeles Fire Safety Card required.

**Pay Range**
$71.88 - $104.23 /hour
