As a Sr. IT Engineer here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in network administration, design, and troubleshooting as you manage and optimize our network systems. Your proactive problem-solving skills and innovative thinking will be paramount in maintaining the seamless operation of our network, enhancing its scalability, and guarding against potential security threats. In this position, you will have the autonomy to implement best practices, guide projects, and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive network excellence.

You will report directly to our Network Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location on a hybrid work schedule, after the initial 90-day onsite period (required of all new external hires.)

In this role, you will impact the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure. With a focus on optimizing our networks and systems, you will ensure they align seamlessly with the organization's evolving requirements. By resolving complex technical issues, implementing system enhancements, and documenting best practices, you will contribute to a seamless operation that directly supports our mission of delivering cutting-edge solutions to industries worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations and delivery services of the network infrastructure

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain network solutions

+ Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions

+ Conduct regular network assessments and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance

+ Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures

+ Lead network troubleshooting and incident response efforts to ensure minimal downtime and maximum network reliability

Travel, up to 15%, can be expected, to the United States and/or internationally.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE:

+ 6+ years of experience in network administration and analysis

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ 2+ years of experience with network monitoring tools and technologies.

+ 2+ years of experience working with routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.

+ Ability to speak, read and write English

WE VALUE:

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

+ Certification in network management (e.g., CCNA, CCNP or higher) demonstrating a commitment to network management and security best practices

+ Experience using network tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center, (formerly known as vManage), SolarWinds and Thousand Eyes

+ Experience with network virtualization technologies such as SDN or SDWAN

+ Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing network-related projects

+ Proven experience in network automation and scripting using tools like Python or Ansible
