**Responsibilities**
In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Surgical Technologist I is to function as a team member during the preoperative intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure. This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Requirements: Up to two (2) years recent hospital experience Must have received practical education at St. John’s surgical department within the last six (6) months Performance during practical education will be rated above average Completion of Surgical Technologist training Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in the capacity of a surgical technologist Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS) Current Certified Surgery Tech certification (CT ORT) Preferred Requirements: Previous practice experience Special Skills: Demonstrates basic skills appropriate to the roles of the Surgical Technologist. Demonstrates ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery. Demonstrates a caring compassionate attitude toward others. Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently. Demonstrates ability to work in a stressful environment while remaining calm efficient and focused. Demonstrates ability and willingness to actively participate in continuing education programs unit based programs unit based task forces and committees. Seeks opportunities for improving job knowledge and skills. Demonstrates ability to assume on call status as determined by department manager and according to department needs. Verbal and written communication skills required computer skills preferred. Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
**Pay Range**
$30.60 - $38.25 /hour
