Job Duties:
- Supervises and teaches inmate work crews on the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repairing of state facilities and equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance by inspecting, cleaning, adjusting, or replacing motors, generators, batteries, pumps, belts, etc.
- Performs skilled electrical duties in the repair and service of facilities and equipment
- Interprets/reads blueprints, schematics, drawings, and/or standards for the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, fixtures, and appliances
- Ensures work performed is completed in compliance with national and local building codes

- Exercises and tests all emergency transfer switches

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
+ Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.

THE POSITION:
Canyon State Electric is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Electrician. This role is essential for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems according to industry standards and local codes. RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Install various types of electrical systems, including wiring, devices, and control panels, according to engineering specifications and compliance with local, state, and national codes.
+ Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs of electrical systems to ensure functionality and efficiency. Troubleshoot complex issues “lighting controls/ motor control systems” and make recommendations for system enhancements.
+ Conduct detailed testing and commissioning of new and existing electrical systems to ensure they meet all requirements and function correctly.
+ Accurately complete all necessary documentation including service reports, testing logs, and compliance forms. Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
+ Provide high-quality customer service, offering clear communication and feedback about the status and safety of their systems. Address customer concerns and ensure their satisfaction with the services provided.
+ Stay updated with the latest electrical codes and standards. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NEC standards and other relevant regulations.
+ Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
+ Share knowledge and assist in training junior technicians.
+ Complete other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A minimum of Journeyman / 5 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
+ Strong understanding of electrical system design, configuration, and operational requirements. Familiarity with various fire alarm panels and devices.
+ Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring minimal downtime.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with use of Phone, Tablet, and computer. Applicant shall be capable of explaining complex systems in an understandable manner.
+ High level of attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

+ Maintain housekeeping of warehouse to meet safety standards and follow all safety guidelines
+ Perform visual, electrical, mechanical, electronic inspection of tools, report and flag any non-compliant items
+ Test all generator components on large electrical equipment
+ Troubleshoot and repair damaged electrical components and equipment as well as preventative maintenance
+ Read line drawings for repair and troubleshooting activities and electrical codes
+ Follow Standard Maintenance Protocols, tasks and adhere to site safety, quality, company, and government requirements
+ Repair and maintain test and industrial equipment and perform quality hand solder repair to the board or component level
+ Willingness to be on call for emergency equipment troubleshooting
+ Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure that each generator toolkit has the proper tools needed.
+ Coordinate, label, and package all generator tooling needed for each outage project.
+ Quality assurance check each kit before shipping to make sure there is a kit template and a calibration certificate enclosed if necessary.
+ Timely completion of kit assembly to meet tool center schedule requirements
+ Ensure that kits are delivered with no quality issues (missing parts or non-working parts).
+ Review inventory of tools returned from site to ensure all items are accounted for as outlined in inventory sheets
+ Clean, reorganize, and relabel all returned toolkits
+ Create and submit restock requests for replacement parts and tools.
+ Complete required, annual safety training
+ Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
+ Travel may be required

**Description**
Skilled worker in the electrical/instrumentation field whose duties include, but are not limited to the removal, repair and installation of electrical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.
+ Perform safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Valid state drivers license

**What You Will Do**
+ Removal, repair and installation of electrical components, electrical systems, analysis and diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting and systems/process optimization; may mentor or train other electrical workers
+ Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction
+ Perform preventative maintenance including installation, repair and troubleshooting of industrical electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation and pneumatic equipment)

You will contribute to our team by:
- Performing 550kV, 4160V, and 480V electrical systems maintenance (consistent with NEC electrical safety practices) and/or supervising outside contractors in the performance of such work including the development of work scope and bid analysis.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, relays, switches, control, generator monitoring and control systems, medium and high voltage distribution systems and monitoring devices.
- Diagnosing and repairing the cause of instrument and control system malfunctions including transmitters, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems, instrument loops, flow meters, pressure probes, temperature probes, level probes.
- Conducting comprehensive analysis into electrical/instrumentation component and system issues and resolving practically and effectively.
- Possessing knowledge and competency of all applicable Electrical/Instrumentation codes and best practices.
- Providing technical input into the improvement and optimization of plant electrical/instrumentation systems and processes.
- Accurately assessing the risk of equipment deficiencies and pursuing proactive measures for maintaining plant reliability.
- Fully supporting the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) by philosophy. Performing CMMS data entry and work order close-out in a thorough and timely fashion.

What you will bring to the role:
Education:

Additional Details:
