**What You Will Do**

+ Removal, repair and installation of electrical components, electrical systems, analysis and diagnosis, advanced troubleshooting and systems/process optimization; may mentor or train other electrical workers

+ Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction

+ Perform preventative maintenance including installation, repair and troubleshooting of industrical electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation and pneumatic equipment)

+ Must have strong knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of AC/DC drives, PLCs, overhead cranes, management control systems, calibration of field transmitters/transducers and weigh scales, and low and medium voltage equipment

+ Ability to perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards

+ Follow Standard Operating Procedues (SOP) and work area instructions, participate in safety and environmental activities, and use plant and equipment correctly at all times

**What You Bring To Freeport**

+ Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program, **OR**

+ Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance, **OR**

+ Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field **and ** two (2) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance

+ Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment; this includes the ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company

+ Must have minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire date

+ Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

+ Experience in all phases of electrical work, including 480 volt 3 phase 208 volt single phase 277 lighting power and 120 volt house hold current

+ A complete working knowledge of all electrical tools, testers, meters, and gauging devices. VOM’s amp meters, load devises, circuit testers, toners, etc.

+ The electrician needs to know how, and use; safety equipment, lock out – tag out devices and all other means to protect himself and others

+ The candidate needs to have a good knowledge of low voltage and control panel trouble shooting procedures

+ The electrician needs to be proficient in installation of switches, outlets, disconnects, breakers, installing fuses, and putting together cable ends and splicing wires.

+ Ability to trouble shoot electrical problems, wire electrical motors and devices, change voltage on motors and test equipment for shorts, loose connection, etc.

+ Knowledge of all work involved with the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of all audio and video equipment related to inside radio-television, sound and public address system, recording equipment, and electrical appliances including television sets.

+ Thorough understanding of all electrical work related to fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, heating and air conditioning equipment, building automated systems, DDC &VFD drives, escalators and elevators.

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines and function under stress.

+ Possesses computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office

+ Experience with electronic preventive maintenance programs preferred.

+ Ability to climb stairs, lift 40 lbs. unaided and perform work at high heights.

+ Must be familiar with OSHA requirements.

Skills and Abilities

+ Minimum of 2-4 years experience in general electrical installation, repair, and maintenance of all electrical related building systems.

+ Completion of twelfth grade with specialized training in electrical installation and/or maintenance. Trade School or apprentice program.

+ Possession of Electrical license is highly desirable.

+ Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

+ Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

+ Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

+ Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Advise supervisor and or management immediately on whether continued operation of electrical equipment could be hazardous to the facility.

+ Provide assistance during emergencies by operating generators, UPS’s, switchgears, or any other duties to keep facility operating electrically. Respond and troubleshoot electrical equipment problems within the company-owned facilities. Assist in maintaining inspection and maintenance of life safety systems

+ Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes or as directed by supervisor. Insure compliance with federal and state codes. Other duties or projects as assigned or requested

+ Plan layout and install electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

+ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

+ Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Instruct 1-2 lower level technicians and guiding temporary and seasonal employees in general labor and basic work procedures and safe working practices.

+ Train “ready-replacement” technician

+ Develop, coordinate and communicate proposed schedules for periodic testing of critical equipment and installations with Supervisor and key Data Center operations personnel. Maintain accurate records regarding equipment maintenance and replacements.

The typical pay range for this role is:

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

**Description**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

Under direct supervision perform and / or assist to perform the following duties:

+ Removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.

+ Safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs.

+ Preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e.: substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic equipment).

+ Troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment.

+ Basic instrumentation maintenance & calibration activities.

+ Safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment such as light vehicles.

+ Work area and equipment safety inspections.

+ Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

**WHAT YOU BRING TO FREEPORT**

+ Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in electrical, instrumentation/control systems or relevant field, **OR**

+ Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with an associate degree or certification in electrical, instrumentation/control systems or relevant field.

**WHAT WE REQUIRE**

+ Ability to understand, apply and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions, procedures, job assignments and applicable safety standards in English.

+ Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

+ Work is in an office, mine, or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.

+ Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds during the workday.

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.

**Compensation:**

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.00/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on education and relevant experience.
