DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Reentry Employment Counselor with the Workforce Solutions Administration (WSA). This position is responsible for providing a wide range of employment related services to engage, advise, prepare, and match job seekers with Arizona businesses and enable job seekers to: get a job, maintain or strengthen current employment, or build a sustainable career. Services are provided through 1:1 or group interactions and will include client facing, virtual/digital or telephonic means. Services provided will be for reentry program and will focus on incarcerated and formerly incarcerated populations.

Must be willing and able to work in correctional facilities, parole/probation offices, community agencies, residential centers; and work outside of traditional 8-5 work hours.

This position will be required to utilize a business methodology that drives continuous improvement.

Travel may be required to prisons, residential reentry centers and conferences.

Travel will be required for State business. If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assess skills, abilities, work history, employment barriers and career interests, retention follow up; develop employment plans; determine eligibility for services; provide information on Labor Market, In-Demand industries, and occupations; and identify and coordinate with formal and informal resources to remove barriers, develop skills, and achieve certifications.
• Use databases to register & refer job seekers; complete and maintain accurate records and reports for performance and reporting requirements in accordance with quality and quantity standards mandated by various laws, rules and federal regulations.
• Provide customer service, program information to job seekers, colleagues, and the business community; maintain positive working relationships with local partners, community organizations and other agency personnel; and resolution of customer issues and complaints. Travel to locations within assigned area is required.
• Attend required trainings and meetings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
• Knowledge of Labor Market Information and In-demand Industries and Occupations.
• Knowledge of interviewing techniques, assessment tools and strategies and transferable skills.
• Knowledge of social, cultural, and economic conditions that impact the populations and area(s) served.
• Skill in customer service, teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal communication, including de-escalation and conflict resolution.
• Skill in written and verbal communication, including public speaking, presentation, and interviewing.
• Skill in adapting to changing circumstances, staff and client’s needs, and work with interruptions.
• Proficiency Microsoft Office, Google, data base systems, and computers, and technology-based platforms that interface directly with applicants and job seekers such as Google Meets, Zoom, and other video conferencing technologies to interview participants, elicit information, assess skills, knowledge, ability, work history and interest while maintaining client confidentiality.
• Ability to learn & apply applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and procedures, to include Department of Labor, Department of Economic Security, Department of Corrections, and Department of Administration rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to strictly adhere to Correctional department policies and procedures.
• Ability to plan and organize work in accordance with Division priorities and time management methodology.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of diverse teams.
• Ability to work in a correctional facility and react quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to remain professional, calm, and adapt communication style with diverse customer needs or customers that are frustrated.

Selective Preference(s):
The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience in public contact or customer service work experience, reentry employment counseling, recruiting, or case management.
• Experience in a correctional facility and community reentry/corrections.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Must complete all corrections designated training within 1 month of hire and remain current with all corrections required training.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Nurturing Parenting Practitioner:
Family Consultants in the Nurturing Parenting Program provide home-based and community-based services in Maricopa and Pinal Counties to families referred by the Department of Child Safety (DCS). Our consultants work with these families to promote positive parenting ideas and techniques.

Duties include:

-Meets with parents and children, in the home or community, once a week to provide parenting education, parent-child observation during activities, and debriefing.
-Coordinates care with Department of Child Safety and other involved services.
-Connects families with needed resources.
-Provides direct service to program participants using the Nurturing Parenting Program curriculum. Administer, score, and interpret the assessment tools included in the curriculum.
-Prepare the Family Nurturing Plan (FNP) with the family and provide parent education based on FNP.
-Communicate regularly with other team members and outside agencies regarding participant needs and progress in order to ensure coordinated services best meet the family’s needs.
-Document and report findings and progress back to JFCS team and DCS.
-Complete weekly reports and closing summaries.
-Attend training provided by DCS to learn implementation and practice of the Nurturing Parenting Program curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have:

-Ability to adjust schedule to the needs of the client, which may include working some evenings and weekends.
-Working knowledge of child welfare system.
-Familiarity with skill-building and psycho-educational work.
-Ability to complete all appropriate documentation of any communication with and regarding the family in a timely manner.

Qualifications

-Associate Degree in human services or related field OR two (2) years' related work experience.
-Social service work experience preferred.
-Familiarity with the child welfare system strongly preferred.
-Experience doing skill building and psycho-educational work strongly preferred.
-Experience working with children and families strongly preferred.
-Reliable transportation required.
-Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card without restriction(s).
-Valid Arizona Driver’s License required.
-Active / Valid Arizona Auto Insurance with appropriate liability limits to meet contractual obligations.

This position works with patient families to educate them on applicable insurance benefits and payment options for out of pocket amounts due. For uninsured and underinsured patients, the Family Financial Services Counselor works with the family to assist them in obtaining 3rd party covered through government and/or commercial plans and also walks them through the PCH financial assistance application process. This position provides a customer service friendly approach that is coordinated with the patient’s care team in order to ensure that the family has a full understanding of liability, coverage and coverage options, and payment options.

This position guides and trains the Family Financial Counselors in working with patient families to educate them on insurance benefits, payment options and out of pocket amounts due, assisting them in obtaining 3rd party coverage through government and commercial avenues and walking them through the PCH financial assistance and premium assistance programs when applicable. The Lead Financial Counselor thinks creatively about coverage options in a changing healthcare environment and provides a customer service friendly approach that is coordinated with with the patient’s care team in order to ensure that the family has a full understanding of liability, coverage and coverage options, and payment options.

DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position will report to the Supervisor and provide vocational rehabilitation counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities to address barriers to employment and gain the skills to enter, gain, or retain employment. This position will serve in a hybrid work environment.

Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in one of the following tiers:

• Entry Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Bachelor's degree in a field of study reasonably related to rehabilitation counseling or another field that reasonably prepares individuals to work with individuals with disabilities and employers and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities

• Intermediate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Master's degree in a field of study closely related to rehabilitation counseling and one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities (Closely related fields are defined by Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.)

• Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Meets Intermediate credential requirements plus has a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification

Annual salary is commensurate with education and qualifications, ranging from $48,510.17 to $55,440.52

• Introduces clients to the vocational rehabilitation program including program eligibility criteria and client’s right and responsibilities
• Reviews client’s medical and/or psychological information to identify employment needs and goals as well as available services and resources
• Provides vocational counseling, career exploration, and labor market exploration to determine suitable employment goals
• Meets with clients on a one-on-one basis to problem solve and establish or modify an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE)
• Provides case management and maintains regular contact with clients, service providers, and collaborative programs, and assess services and IPE progress
• Manages fiscal resources including authorizing, reviewing, and payment of services

Intermediate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

• Provides case management to clients with complex needs and goals
• Serves as program liaison for specialized groups
• Provides guidance to Entry Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors

Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

EMPACT-SPC is on the cutting edge in providing unconditional service to children and families. We offer many opportunities for professional development and growth. Our Children’s Services Department is constantly developing and enhancing programs to meet the needs of families in the community.

Family Support Counselors have the natural ability to form positive supportive relationships with children in caring, family and community based environments using ways that adhere to the AZ 12 Principles. Assists with the coordination of case management services and communication of community-based resources. Performs procedures to support clinical operations including problem resolution and customer service; documentation, facilitates Child and Family Teams, and performs other duties as assigned, which may include mentoring children, assisting with living skills, providing respite for families, and other supportive services. This position works primarily with adolescents which occur afternoon and evening hours weekdays. High level of work within the individual adolescents community, as well as Group Facilitation.

Essential Responsibilities:

Promote and protect the health, safety, and emotional well being of children and families by assisting, supporting and educating them to prevent illness and avoid unsafe activities.
Provide mentoring, life and social skill building to children and their families in their home and in community-based settings.
Collaborate with various stakeholder groups.
Provide psychosocial rehabilitation living skills training in children's homes or community-based settings.
Provide respite for families and assist with living skills in the home community-based settings.
In-home family and individual counseling.
Work with the child, family, and any support network to identify areas of risk and to create safeguards specific to these concerns.
Assists the CFT in crisis stabilization and transitional moves to and from higher levels of care.
Consistently address challenging behaviors proactively, respectfully, and by avoiding the use of aversive or deprivation intervention techniques in family-centered, strengths-based manners.

What you’ll provide:

High School Diploma/GED is required.
BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS is required.
Experience working with children with behavioral needs and different diagnosis.
Experience working with parents on parenting skills, modifying behavior and modeling parenting style.
Ability to engage with others easily, coordinate with DCS and follow up in timely manner.
Previous use of behavior charts and behavior modification skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and/or weekend hours.
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred.
Must have Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
Must have a valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
