Leidos is hiring licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Adult Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) team to support Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.

Join the mission to support U.S. military service members and their families as they work through important military life adjustments while serving their country. The Adult Military and Family Life Counselor (Adult-MFLC) position offers a unique opportunity to serve a vital role, in providing non-medical support, which includes counseling, consultation, and outreach, to service members, military family members and eligible staff. Non-medical counseling is preventive in nature and aims to address and provide solution focused approaches to issues before they become greater challenges.

Service members, spouses and family members face unique emotional and environmental challenges due to the stress of military life. This is an opportunity for you to reach them where and when you are most needed.

**Adult-MFLC responsibilities include:**

+ Face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families (individuals, couples, and families).

+ Observe, participate, and engage in activities with service members, military spouses and families; provide coaching, guidance and support to installation staff; and model behavior management techniques for staff and military family members.

+ Offer presentations to service members, military families, and military leadership at military-connect events.

+ Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials.

+ Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events.

+ Help with transition adjustments, such as a new school and a new home.

+ Participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.

+ Communicate information regarding trends and issues at assigned installation to Team Leads.

**Additional Job Duties May Include:**

+ Responding to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation

+ Traversing long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations, to maneuver through rugged, outdoor, or uneven locations (ascend/descend), and work in outdoor weather.

+ Travelling to locations outside of a military base in a variety of physical environments.

+ Due to the nature of working on military installations or related worksites, counselors may need to comply with various site-specific requirements to work at designated locations.

**Environment:**

At the direction of the Department of Defense, duties are performed in multiple indoor locations (approximately 60%) and outdoor locations (approximately 40%). The indoor locations are located within a child development center (CDC) controlled by the Department of Defense. The outdoor locations frequently involve traversing over uneven grassy, gravel, and/or dirt areas, ascending/descending stairs, and exposure to the weather. CDC settings frequently involve sitting on the floor to interact with children for up to 2 hours at a time.

**Licensure Portability:**

Great news! In accordance with the recent National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), licensed Military and Family Life Counselors may provide non-medical counseling services to military families at any location in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or a territory or possession of the United States, regardless of which state the counselor is licensed in. Within the scope of the MFLC program, a counselor may hold any independent and clinical license recognized by the Secretary of Defense as an appropriate license for the provision of non-medical counseling services.

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ A Master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).

+ Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in the US.

+ Must be a U.S. citizen.

+ Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.

Position Summary:

Person in this position will be responsible for the counseling, group facilitation and case management of clients enrolled in the program. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

+ Deliver individual and group counseling services, case management services, education and community outreach services, and referrals to appropriate services and community resources as necessary.

Education:

Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) has the capacity to serve 52 children. The RTC is a safe, supportive environment that provides various services to youth, from the ages of 7 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services.

As a Clinician you will provide individual, family, and group therapy services to individuals and/or their families. Clinicians complete assessments, treatment plans, and all required documentation related to the individual, and are active members of the Child and Family Team. We have specialty programs if you are passionate about working with youth that have been sexually trafficked, LGBTQ+ youth, including gender variant youth pursuing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), younger populations, adolescents and transition-aged youth, group and family therapy modalities, youth that struggle with substance abuse, youth with mood disorders and suicidal ideation, and more. Our Clinical supervisors have extensive experience and expertise in all levels of care. And, our Board approved supervisors with LCSW’s, LPC’s, and LBA’s can assist you in preparing for licensure.

Salary Range
Non-licensed: $58,000 - $63,800
Associate license: $63,000 - $69,300
Independent license: $68,000 - $74,800

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (with other hours as needed)

Qualifications

Master’s degree required: Counseling or Social Work degree preferred; Master’s Degree in Psychology to be considered depending on relevance of course work and previous job experience providing direct therapy

Preferred: One (1) year Clinician experience and ability to obtain licensure through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LAC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, LAAC, LIAC)

Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs

Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)

OTHER:

Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)

Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check

Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results

Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)

Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). We are looking for a motivated Admissions Counselor to be the first point of contact for prospective students and help enroll them in online degree programs. Starting salary is $40,000 per year, depending on prior higher education enrollment experience, with an earning potential of up to six figures after 5 years of successful service.

While this position is a Phoenix, AZ based role, we are currently in a hybrid remote status. This position may require you to be in the office 2 days per week (subject to change) and/or there also may be department meetings or training's that require in-person attendance (proper health and safety measures will be followed), in which advance notice will be provided. This position also offers some remote work opportunities that may be approved for out-of-state candidates residing outside of Phoenix, AZ.

New hire training will encompass three full weeks of training. One week will be held in-person at our Phoenix, AZ campus and the following two weeks will be held virtually via Zoom.

Here’s a taste of how you’ll make your mark as an Admissions Counselor with us.

As an Online Division Admissions Counselor, a typical week might include the following:

+ Strategy and execution. You’ll be reaching out to new and prospective online students by implementing a phone campaign strategy that includes 100+ dials and 3+ hours of talk time per day. You will also be responsible for introducing new students to the online classroom environment and keeping detailed and accurate records of student information all while maintaining confidentiality.

+ Partner and influencer. Through a variety of mediums, you will use your passion for serving others to provide exceptional counseling to prospective students. Whether over the phone, via email, or text, you will champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.

+ Heart and hustle. As a member of a high-performing team, you will meet performance goals and generate referral activities. You will be responsible for guiding prospective Grand Canyon University students through the admissions process and towards a successful online learning experience by clearly communicating program requirements, transfer credits, payment options, time commitment, technology requirements, and student support services.

The role might be right for you if you have:

+ A Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates that have related work experience will be considered.

+ No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.

+ Outstanding time management skills. In this role, you’ll be multitasking, so you’ll need to show that not only have you honed your time management skills, you also know how to prioritize competing priorities.

+ Clear communication skills. You can explain just about anything to anyone and you’re comfortable communicating on the phone and in writing. You’ll also need to have well developed listening skills, great follow up skills, and be comfortable helping prospective students work through concerns or roadblocks.

+ Self-motivation and drive to succeed . You’re going to take ownership of the time you spend with Grand Canyon University students and truly make a difference by guiding students to help them achieve their goals.

+ High emotional intelligence. In this role, you’ll be coaching a diverse range of Grand Canyon University students, each with unique circumstances. Ability to demonstrate empathy is key to success in this role.

+ Computer literacy. We rely on a number of digital tools to help you execute your work and keep you accountable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
